Through the modern-day connection of social media, local thinkers are sharing new ideas at an unprecedented pace. We want to recognize the value of outside-the-box thinking (hence “Beyond the Nutshell”, our primary theme of the event), the innovative individuals and the creative process they’ve contributed to, as well as the fruit of their hard work.
These people may come from a diverse background, but they have one thing in common: they have all contributed to the local creative process. A few examples may be alumni pursuing academic interests that were seldom heard of, educators testing new forms of teaching, and community leaders sharing their own insights and solutions of modern issues such as social media use.
With the help of these talks, students explore topics closely related to their own lives, such as declaring majors and careers, and reflecting on their plans for higher education.
In addition, students could view areas of interest from the perspective of the experienced. The speeches may touch on some issues that the students of our school are particularly passionate about, for example, gender equality, animal protection and modern education.
