Theme: Not Business As Usual - Shaping perspective on perfection

In a world that often emphasizes apparent perfection, TEDxYouth@AvenorCollege aims to open a window to a different reality, where perfection is not a rigid ideal, but a personal, authentic journey.

The speakers at this event are individuals who have managed to create their own utopias. Through inspirational stories and experiences that go beyond the conventional, these extraordinary people will share how they transformed imperfections and challenges into opportunities for growth, teaching us that authenticity, resilience, and consistency are more important than the ideals imposed by society.

These stories will highlight the importance of personal journeys, showing us that each of us can shape our own reality, one that may differ from what is considered "normal." We aim to challenge traditional ideas, encourage free thinking, and create a space where every misstep can become an opportunity for self-development.

PhD in sociology. Executive Director of the "Împreună" Community Development Agency Foundation. Has 17 years of experience in the social inclusion of underrepresented groups and social European politics.

Gianina Van Groningen

Romanian rower - silver medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. World champion in women's double sculls winning consecutive titles in 2017 and 2018. Currently plays for CSA Steaua Bucharest.

Octavian Bellu

Gymnastics coach

Romanian gymnastics coach during 1981-2005. Has won16 Olympic gold medals and 305 titles at World Championships, European Championships and Olympic Games. Has led Romanian gymnasts to 5 world and 2 Olympic titles.
