“Être intelligent” est le thème de notre nouvelle édition de TEDxGeneva, qui aura lieu le 22 novembre 2024 à la HEG-GE (Carouge).

Nous vous invitons à un voyage au cœur de l’intelligence sous toutes ses formes : des villes et de l’urbanisme, à l’éducation perçue comme une expérience magique, en passant par la cognition animale, l’innovation financière avec l’IA, le langage inclusif et la physique des particules… Autant d’intelligences qui redéfinissent notre compréhension du monde.

Adrian Soldati

Adrian is a primatologist doing scientific research on animal behaviour and cognition. He focuses on studying the social behaviours of wild chimpanzees, including how they communicate with sounds and gestures and what this may tell us about the evolution of our language. He has obtained his master in comparative psychology at the Univerity of St Andrews (UK), his PhD in biology at the University of Neuchâtel, and after a Postdoc in the UK he now holds a Postdoc position at the University of Zürich comparing bonobos and chimpanzees. Aleksandra Kuzmanovic

Aleksandra Kuzmanovic is a social media strategist, passionate about leveraging digital platforms as a force for social good. Aleksandra works for the World Health Organization (WHO), where she advises the Director-General and senior leadership on social media activities – crafting strategies that drive breakthrough change and bridge gaps in access to health information. She holds a MA in Standardization, Social Regulation and Sustainable Development from Geneva University, Switzerland, and a BE in Quality Management from Belgrade University, Serbia. DRH engagé et conseil en stratégie RH et en stratégie d’innovation dans plusieurs entreprises, Allen Vernier s’adresse à des entreprises souhaitant bâtir des avantages concurrentiels durables, en s’appuyant sur le capital humain, une culture institutionnelle de l’innovation et des gouvernances libérant le potentiel des équipes. Il prend volontiers son baton de pélerin, pour expliquer combien les entreprises ont trop complexifié les process et leurs méthodes managériales perdant le lien avec l’humain. Andri Alekou

“When I was a child, my Dad wanted me to become a Doctor, while I wanted to become a Physicist. I became a Doctor in Physics, and now we’re both happy.” From a Particle Physics PhD at Imperial College London to 8 years of postdoctoral research at Oxford University and CERN, Andri learned to embrace and even chase change. Her most significant career pivot came in 2020, when, after 16 years in Physics, she took the leap into the corporate world of a Fortune 25 company, working in Analytics. Beyond her work in Analytics, Andri wears many hats: she’s a 3-Dan Martial Arts instructor, a licensed Skydiver, and a proud Mom of 2. These diverse experiences have shaped her unique perspective on personal growth and resilience. Jasper Riehm, widely recognized in Amsterdam under his alias “That Weird Plant Guy,” has reshaped urban greenery through his innovative use of living willows along the city’s iconic canals. Having swapped the chef’s knife for garden shears, Jasper’s new canvas is the water’s edge, where he intricately weaves willow branches into living sculptures that morph with the seasons.

Marek Maslowski

Marek’s interest in mental wellbeing is rooted in his family’s background in medicine and psychiatry, as well as his own experience with mental health issues. But it wasn’t until he witnessed his team members’ struggles with mental health that his passion for the topic turned to advocacy. As a manager of others, Marek, has seen his team members’ wellbeing suffer in different ways. In one instance, an employee with deteriorating performance was struggling with an undiagnosed mental health condition. He talked to the employee and suggested they take some time off to see a doctor. The employee was diagnosed and took time off to get the help they needed. The experience underscores the vital role managers play in helping others. “It’s not enough to just create trust. It’s also guiding people and helping them read the signs they may have,” said Marek.
